Elkton Walking Tour - Friday, June 25, 4:00  PM.
The Elkton Welcome Center Committee is hosting a
walking tour along the streets of historic Elkton, VA
to be conducted by  Elkton native Sara Maude Robinson.
Sara will be sharing historical  facts and recalling
personal childhood memories of Elkton along the  way.
The tour will begin at the Welcome Center at 4 PM
where  refreshments will be served afterwards. Sara
will be available for a  book signing of her recent publication,
titled "Love Always, Hobby  and Jessie". Back issues of
Hobby Robinson books as well as Elkton  souvenirs will
also be available. See the 400+ photos on exhibit.
Located at 306 W. Spotwood Trail in downtown Elkton.

    Book Signing at the Miller-Kite Museum - Sunday, June 27, 1-5 PM
    Former Elkton United Methodist Church minister, Robert Brookover, will
    be present at the Miller-Kite Museum on Sunday, June 27 from 1 to 5 PM
    to  introduce his newly released Civil War novel "Wish is My Master - The
    Honor of Love". The book is based on letters, journals and family lore handed
    down by those who actually lived the Southern experience during the war.
    One quote used in the publication and book title was written Jan. 24, 1863
    by Elkton native, Private Charles  Kite of the 10th Virginia Infantry,  stating, 
    "I suppose you have forgotten me as you do not write  anymore, but I think
    about you all every day and wish to be there,  but wish is my master." 
    The event's schedule is  listed as follows:

    2:00 - 2:45    Program by Robert Brookover

    2:45 - 3:00    Questions and answers

    3:00 - 5:00    Book signing
